Welcome Message

〜To gain a broad perspective and to gain deep insights into specialized fields〜

The Departments of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Information and Communication Engineering at the Graduate School of Engineering, Nagoya University comprehensively covers a wide range of fields related to electricity, including energy, devices, electronics, computers, and communication, all of which support modern life. By enrolling in one of these departments, students can acquire comprehensive knowledge through lectures and practical exercises delivered by faculty members who are experts in their respective fields. To become engineers who support future society, it is essential to possess both broad knowledge and deep expertise. Through research activities conducted in research laboratories, students in our departments gain deep expertise in their fields and cultivate essential research skills. We believe that mastering one skill paves the way to excellence in many others. The knowledge and experience gained from research activities in laboratories will form the foundation of your lifelong expertise.
A well-established research environment is essential for excellent research activities. Our departments offer a highly advanced research environment, with research laboratories covering all fields related to electricity. Each laboratory conducts cutting-edge research and is widely recognized worldwide. Students in our department actively submit papers to top international journals and present their research findings at international conferences abroad.

The research laboratories, covering a wide range of fields, are organized into three departments, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Information and Communication Engineering, according to their research focus. Applicants are encouraged not to choose a department first, but rather to consider the research topic they wish to pursue and the laboratory in which they would like to conduct it. Once they choose the laboratory, the corresponding department will be determined.
In our departments, students engage in top-level research in their laboratories, deepen their understanding of specialized fields through seminars facilitated by faculty members, and broaden their perspectives by taking lectures from a broad range of interdisciplinary fields that interest them.
Accordingly, the Departments of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Information and Communication Engineering aim to cultivate leading engineers and researchers who possess deep expertise, comprehensive knowledge, and a global competence.
