EXPERIMENTAL  DEVICE

NAGDIS-II

The name NAGDIS stands for The Nagoya Divertor Simulator. This is a also a linear type divertor and plasma simulation device with the modification of NAGDIS-I especially, it is possible to make ion temperature high, making use of ion cyclotron heating. The plasma thermal current can be control by the gas flow. The use of NAGDIS-I is limited by the high frequency induction heating by the ion cyclotron wave.

NAGDIS-II are equipped with the various instruments as scanning probe and probe array (the end plate), such as CCD and spectroscope. That is why, it can measure the temperature and plasma density (electron density, ion density etc.) and neutral particle time. In addition, diameter direction distribution and various spectrum measurements of electron temperature near the end plate is also possible.
