Overview

NAGDIS-II (Nagoya University Divertor Plasma Simulator II) is a device designed to realize what could not be achieved with NAGDIS-I, which is also a linear device. As a specific improvement, introduction of a cusp magnetic field to the plasma generation region and increase of the magnetic field strength can generate high density plasma compared with NAGDIS-I. In addition, it is possible to experimentally change the neutral particle pressure with a stable plasma source by arranging an intermediate electrode with a small inner diameter between the plasma generation part and the downstream side.

As a measuring instrument, thre are three electrostatic probes capable of one-dimensional high speed reciprocation. In recent years, an electrostatic probe capable of two-dimensional moving and Thomson scattering measurement systems capable of measuring upstream and downstream of plasma are newly established. We are actively performing research on various problems related to the edge plasma in fusion devices.
